Digital Radiography (DR)

Radiography is another technology that Oakland Animal Hospital proudly offers to better care for your pet. Digital Radiography is the use or x-rays to obtain images of full body or oral cavities in your pet. This new technology for animals allows us to take high quality, internal images and process them onsite within seconds. These images are taken with decreased radiation exposure and allow us to be more thorough and efficient in our diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the images are created and stored using a medical imaging standard called DICOM that provides our veterinary clinic the ability to email and / or copy the image for all veterinary hospitals to view. This allows you to have the x-ray images at your fingertips without the hassle of waiting or checking out the films.
