Clarissa Funke, DVM
Dr. Clarissa Funke earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University in 2008 as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2012. During veterinary school, her interests evolved toward small animal medicine and community veterinary care.
Dr. Funke spent the past 14 years with Michigan Humane, where she provided veterinary care through outpatient community clinics, cared for shelter animals, and most recently served as Director of Veterinary Programs. She has a special interest in preventative care, feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, and she is especially passionate about client communication and compassionate patient care.
Dr. Funke lives in Royal Oak with her two children and their rescue terrier mix, Cedric. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys yoga, gardening, and spending time adventuring with her children.
